This or That Thursday

Today's This or That is about one of my favorite hobbies: MUSIC! How do you prefer to listen to your tunes? On the radio, CDs, or your MP3/iPod?
Here is me with mine. My four year old took this picture, and I believe I am listening to Papa Roach.
Photobucket

I love, love, love my iPod. All of your favorite songs in one place! I actually have an iPod nano which holds 500 songs, so that is where my favorites are stored. I also have a bigger one that holds I think 20,000 songs! How will I ever fill that up? All of my songs are stored on the computer on the Itunes application. You can import your own CDs on it and buy individual songs or albums from the Itunes store. I like that you can purchase song by song.
I listen to my iPod in the car (I have an adaptor that lets it play through the radio), when I take walks in the neighborhood, and when I grocery shop. I also play songs on Itunes through my computer in my home. I listen to the radio a few times a week as well so I can hear any new songs that are out. I used to listen to my CDs constantly before I received my iPod (which I received from my hubby three years ago because he knew I'd love it. Believe it or not, I was skeptical!).

How do you listen to your music? Don't forget to vote on the poll on the right!

I also want to give a shout out to Katie from Katie Darby Recommends. She held a rock haiku contest, and I won a Worn Free t-shirt. Thanks, Katie! Check out my winning haiku here!
I beat out fellow blogger Ben Esch who in turn was forced to write a haiku about the winners...Read them here. Ben's book Sophomore Undercover comes out this month!

Do I get drawn and quartered if I confess that I rarely listen to music? The car is the only place and that radio only goes on if one of the kids turns it on.

I DO THE EXACT THING YOU DO...I LISTEN TO MY IPOD ALL THE TIME, BUT OCCASIONALLY LISTEN TO THE RADIO SO I CAN FIND NEW SONGS I LIKE...MY IPOD CHANGED MY LIFE...I GOT IT FOR CHRISTMAS '07 AND KEPT IT IN THE PACKAGING FOR MONTHS AND THEN ONCE I DECIDED TO USE IT, I'VE NEVER LOOKED BACK...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BOSE DOCKING STATION...I KEEP IT IN MY KITCHEN AND IT IS AWESOME :)

iPod -- all the way! I have over 8000 songs on mine, but that's not all the music we have in the house at the moment. I love that silly thing and would be lost without it. I too, was skeptical before getting it. Now I wonder how I lived without it for so long!

This is embarrassing, but I hardly ever listen to music. I somehow turned into an old man who listens to AM talk radio when I'm not listening to books on CD.

Another old fogie here. I usually listen to music on the car radio.

I'm so naive I just figured everyone loved to listen to music :0). Seriously!
Rena-you are queen of the tunes! I don't know anyone who has more songs than you!
Sue- I have an Ipod boombox that I use too, but a docking station would be useful as well!

Hey Music Guru,
Any thoughts about the new Kelly Clarkson song, now #1 (My Life Would Suck without you)?
Personally I love her song
Since u Been Gone.

And I just listened to the Killers the other day.

Douglas, Weird you mention Kelly Clarkson as I was thinking of her today...I hadn't heard that song, so I checked out the 30 second snippet from Itunes. I liked what I heard. I do like her song "Since U Been Gone" and I also like "Miss Independent." I usually gravitate to harder rock, but I do like her pop rock sound. She has a powerful voice. I also bought a Beyonce tune today (which is more pop than rock)!
Kim- Yay! You know I love the Killers!

It depends on where I am. When I'm working at my desk I listen to songs on the computer, otherwise I play CD's. In the car I listen to the kids' favorite station (even when they're not in the car).

Funny haiku, BTW!

I love my ipod but don't have the car adapter. You've got me thinking that might be a good Valentine's gift for which to drop hints. Lately I've been playing The Killers' cover of "Romeo and Juliet" and Beyonce's "Single Ladies" to death. Rock on!

Loved your winning haiku!

If I'm in the car the radio is up loud and I'm singing my poor little tone deaf heart out...

I like to listen to my MP3 Player...There are times that I forget I even have the headphones on...makes for an uncomfortable ear when you answer the phone and you forget about your headphones...grin...

Cute picture Kelly! I am an ipod/iphone user. Ipod (which my dear husband got me several years ago) is in the bathroom. Iphone all the rest of the time. And I cruise Itunes for new music. It's like the best candy box ever. YAY! I love technology!!!

I don't get to listen to music as much as I want to.

But when I do, it usually involves marshmellows.

It's not called The Marshmellow Game. I will put on Sexy Back and throw big marshmellows at my kids while we all dance around the living room. They only get to eat the ones they catch.

I don't have a preference as long as I don't hafta go upgrade how I ;isten to it. I've been through LPs, cassettes, cds and now mp3's. Thank goddness I didn't fall into that 8 track trap!

Hahaha, you know, as much music as I listen to, I didn't want an iPod, either? My mom totally forced me into the mp3 thing. I'm so glad she did, but it took me forever.

Now I alternate. I've still got hundreds of CDs lying around, but I listen to my iPod at work and around the house. :)
