Tune for Tuesday

Today’s tune is a great, classic song by Led Zeppelin. “Thank You” was released in 1969 on the Led Zeppelin II album. The English band, Led Zeppelin, influenced rock and roll with their heavy guitars and achieved great commercial success. Led Zeppelin ranked number one on VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. I’m sure all of you have heard of Led Zeppelin….
So many awesome songs! My favorite albums are II and IV; my roommate, Becky, and I would listen to those albums while getting ready to go the bars in college!
It is the week of Thanksgiving. The song lyrics in “Thank You” have nothing to do with Thanksgiving, blogs, or writing, but the title words should be said daily to friends, family, even strangers.
I want to thank Vivian at Hipwritermama blog for a book I’ve won in her contest! She is sending me Lemonade Mouth by Mark Peter Hughes. This YA book is centered around music…gee, do you think I’ll like it? :0)
Thank you for visiting my blog. Thank you for commenting. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’m looking forward to having some great family time! I hope you all can do the same! I feel truly blessed.
Happiness..I’m glad.

Great song! I love Led Zeppelin. I grew up with an older sister who loved The Beatles and an older brother who blared Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple from his car stereo. Ironically, I grew up liking The Who. Go figure.

Kelly -- The other day I was reading that they named the band Led Zeppelin after a comment Keith Moon made about them going down like a "lead zeppelin". Do you know if there is any truth to that? Keith said a lot of funny things, but I don't recall if I ever heard that one before.

Me, too. Love them. No one else is like them! Though I must admit, generally, I know very little about music.

Good song, great melancholy. Also, I never knew Robert Plant was the one who pioneered super-low jeans. (Robert! Pull your pants up!)

I haven't heard the song in ages! Thanks for a trip down memory lane.

Mark Peter Hughes' publicist over at Random House has sent off the book to you--hope you enjoy Lemonade Mouth! (There's something inspiring about a publisher package in the mail--write, write, write!)

Have a great Thanksgiving.

My brother loved Led Zeppelin - I was not so into that. I sat and listened to my Dad singing Johnny Cash songs.

Dad even looked like Johnny Cash.

There hasn't been anyone like ”Johnny Cash”

Happy, Happy Thanksgiving!

I actually use Led Zeppelin in my WIP, just quoting "Hammer of the Gods, not to be confused with glamour of the gods.

We own their live concert DVD, and Jon puts it on every Friday night (if we've gone out for drinks) – either that or the Clash or Nirvana.

Great pick! Thank You was my brother's wedding song. He had broken his ankle a couple weeks before the ceremony. So when he hobbled alongside his new bride to the center of the dance floor clutching his cane, we weren't hoping for much.

Until a few measures in, when completey frustrated, he threw his cane aside, grabbed his bride and sang out, "If the sun refused to shine...I would still be loving you."

The crowd hooted, howled and of course, we cried.

Thank you for reminding me. ; )

Rena- I read something similar too about their band name but it was "lead balloon" which led to Led Zeppelin! Band origin names can be interesting!
GG-You don't really have to know a lot about music to enjoy it, but I'm a little obsessed :0)
Danette- I noticed that, too!!
Vivian- Thanks for the rockin' book!!
Kim-I've got some Johnny Cash on my Ipod too!
Samantha- Cool that you used Zeppelin in your novel!! And I can now picture your husband rockin' to the classics :0)
Tee- A happy one to you and your family, too!!
Sherrie- I think there's a story there with Chris and the bus...
Adrienne- Happy Turkey Day to you, too!
Shelby- Cool! I would draw I heart John Taylor (Duran) in junior high...
Suzanne- That is a heartwarming story!!!
