Won't You Be My Agent?

Can you guess what I've been doing this week? Yep, I submitted to agents for the very first time, though to only a handful. It made me nervous. It even made me sweat. It's still making me anxious. So I needed to do something fun to blow off some steam. Here it is.
It's a good thing I'm looking for a literary agent and not a talent agent...

Here's even a super short blooper! Watch the background.

Any suggestions for me on how to not lose my mind while I wait for replies? :)

HA! I especially love the second one! That was too cute!

And about not going crazy. Um, isn't it in the job description? Thou shall go crazy and snatch your head bald whilst looking for an agent?

I'm with you now looking for another one. Wishing us both lots and lots of luck! FYI - if you want some additional names, let me know - I've got excel spreadsheets!

Jen said...

Hooray!!!!! I don't know how to keep you from going crazy because I have yet to send mine out... so I'll need advice for when it's my turn!

Hang in there and Congratulations!

Ello- My oldest and I have watched the second one about ten times and giggled each time. You did give me your excel sheet a while ago, thanks again! Good luck to you!

I love the ponytail to no ponytail move. So Mr. Rodgers of you. That was beautiful. I think this is productive. These vids are going to charm the heck out of any agent.

Thinking of you!!!

Kelly--it's so wonderful that you would take a stressful time, and entertain US! When I got to the end of the second video, I was surrounded by kids. My oldest asked, "Why does she need an agent?" Why, indeed!

I too, appreciated the hair transformation. Movie magic.

Thanks for the laugh--and good luck. I'm hoping that when you're raking in that awesome three-book deal that you won't skimp out on making videos to entertain the lowly folk.

Haha, loved this. That video cracked me up! :)

Good luck finding an agent!

I'm glad you all got a chuckle out of it! (and thanks for the tweet, Debra!)
Our household has watched the one of my youngest falling numerous times in the last two days, and we laugh EVERY time!
Thanks for all the well wishes! :)

Good luck in the query trenches! There's nothing more exciting -- and more devastating -- than querying.

So my advice: take up Farmville. Or, uh, write something else. ;-)

You've just taken a mighty great step my friend! It's onwards and upwards from here. Once you've taken the plunge, there will be no stopping you.

All the best. Crossing my fingers and toes for you :)

PS. Couldn't watch the video. I'm on dial-up. Lets not go there.... :(

I wish I had help for you on this waiting business, but I'm the worst waiter in the world. I pace, chew my nails, and become something of a grump (this from my family).

Good luck, Kelly. I know you'll do fine.

Sanity is relative. Besides, I think sanity is frowned upon in the literary world:)

So cute and funny!

Anita said...

I can't wait to show this to Boy!

Isn't it weird that you, PMM and me are all querying at the same time? Do you think the whole world is querying?

nikki said...

OMG Kelly! I was giggling while I watched the first one - but I busted up at the second one! The kids are gonna laugh!!!

Chandler Craig said...

haha, this is too funny! I won't lie, I sort of enjoyed the querying process! You always have something to look forward. You don't know if you will hear from an agent in a couple minutes or in 3 weeks. It's all so exciting! (That being said, I hope I never have to do it again.)

Keri Mikulski said...

Love it!! :)

The butterflies.. :) Keep writing.. This will keep your mind off it.. Kind of. :)

Best of luck.

There is no way to stay sane while querying. Symptoms start raging almost immediately. Inability to focus. Unexplained pain in right index finger. Stalking men in uniform carrying envelopes...

Nora MacFarlane said...

Ohhhhh! Best of luck - here's hopin'!

Shelli said...

good luck! :)
