Welcome to the Book Parade

I love parodies. I've written a manuscript of children song parodies with a Halloween theme. I've even seen the master of parodies, Weird Al Yankovic, in concert. Ahhh, parodies. They just make me laugh. Laugh, dance, and sing.

You've seen my "Won't You Be My Agent?" parody, read my "The Bogeyman" parody poem, and now I have another one for you to celebrate National Library Week.

Here's "Welcome to the Book Parade," a parody of My Chemical Romance's "Welcome to the Black Parade." It's a parade parody...or a parady!
(In case you were wondering, I used a form of the word "parody" ten times in this post. Overkill?)

(I know. Sometimes I wonder about myself, too. Why do I do these things? I just get a wild hair and do them. Then shake my head and think, "Why did I just do that?" I'm a goofball. I realize that. So, watch if you have time. If you don't, I understand, but hug a librarian instead!)

Here is the song/video that I parodied. "Welcome to the Black Parade" by one of my fave bands, My Chemical Romance; it's my tune for Tuesday for today! One of my characters in Rock 'n' Roll Princesses Wear Black is named after the lead singer.

How are you celebrating National Library week?

Kelly, that was awesome!

I am celebrating NLW by...I dunno yet. Maybe I'll make some Peanut Butter No Bakes and bring them in.

Kelly - you are a brave soul. I had a flashback to my bedroom, circa 1985. You are my idol!

I visited my favorite children's librarian yesterday!

I am so impressed with your video!

I totally have time for that!

You have great technique. If only my wild hair turned out quite so well...

And that is a good question: How will I celebrate? I will have to get back to you..

EXCELLENT! I don't know how you do it without laughing. Amazing focus, I guess. THANKS for the reminder about the "holiday."

Thanks, Jon. I'll take some PB No bakes (never had them, but they sound yummy!).
Kris - Maybe brave or just shameless. I don't know :).
Thank you, Christina!
Thank you, Tina! I totally slicked my sides with gel which I normally don't do.
Heather - Yay! I was hoping at least a few people would be familiar with the song! Thank you!
Thanks, Shannon. Not sure about the singing talent, but thanks!!
Elana - I love, love, love parodies!
Sue- Thanks you! I love the rest of the song, too, but was too lazy to figure out more words!!
Anita - I usually have a family member tape my vlogs, but I knew I had to (wanted to) look serious for this one, so I taped it myself. Otherwise I would have been busted up laughing!!

Bish - Yes, I guess I can be a ham. I am sometimes shy, but sometimes a ham! :)
Ann Marie - None of the above. I think goofball sums it up!

That was awesome! You are multi-talented, and brave too, no one's going to see me singing and dancing on my blog! Of course, you do both way better than I do!
