Oh I was just going to close my eyes and imagine a bunch of words running around in my head - kind of my own version of a poetry slam!

Kelly--Gripping cinquain. I've cared for people having seizures, and it's such a helpless/terrifying feeling to be able to do nothing but watch.

I'm in with a "Dew," by Kay Ryan, and how we shared a metaphor.

http://laurasalas.livejournal.com/151973.html

P.S. I was too busy to do the Picture Book NaMo, too. Hoping to do an impromptu one when things calm down!

Today I'm sharing Robert Pinsky's "ABC," which I rendered in alphabet pasta: http://jamarattigan.livejournal.com/278712.html.

Thanks for hosting, Kelly! :)

Okay, I think I'm finally catching on. On Fridays, we post poetry on our blogs, then 'the host' links to them. That about right?

I just might participate with something original next week. Though I might try to find a way to do it anonymously -- wouldn't want anybody to find out I have a secret soft spot.

Linda said...

Hi Kelly, I'm sharing Gary Soto's new collection of love poems at http://ldkwritetime.blogspot.com
Thanks!

Mur said...

The Write Sisters want to thank Kelly for hosting today. Seeing a redbreasted grosbeak for the first time inspired Mur to look for a bird-related poem. Maya Angelou's Caged Bird fit the (ahem) bill.

Thanks for hosting. This is my first time to participate.

I've posted two poems by a mystery poet. The challenge is to name who the author is. Really, it's not that hard.
